attention ingrid
ingrid:

um, i forgot, but since you are printmaster aka tiny norwegian max in a girl body, tell me something: what the fuck is chine colle again?

it sounds dirty, but i'm fairly sure it pertains to printmaking, which is dirty, but not in a naughty way that demands discretion.

thanks. and my vacay is in a month so maybe we can "chine colle" together then... UH OH!

how could you forget chine colle? chine colle is what makes max's wrinkley turkey neck stand up straight and gobble. god, he loves that chine colle.
chine colle is an aesthetic device used to incorporate "decorative" papers into the print. you put glue (usu. methyl cellulose) on one side of a strip of paper. then you put the inked plate onto the press bed and lay the strips, glue-side up, over whatever areas of the plate you want to cover. the printing paper is laid over all this and the plate is run through the press. the print prints on top of the chine colle paper. the chine colle paper should be thinner than the printing paper.

happy to be of assistance. you should come to the bacon show next weekend!
